The Col•legi
de l'Art Major de la Seda was established in July
1834, by agreement of the old Gremios de Velers
(founded on 24 November 1533), of Velluters (founded
on November 22, 1547) and to which Perxers was
iincorporated in 1929.
Its origin
dates back to 1200, the year of Pedro II and Count
of Barcelona, cited in a disposition of the Gremi
de Velers. However, it was in 1533 when Carlos
I enacted las Ordenanzas de la Cofradía
de Tejedores de Velos de Seda, under the appeal
of Our Lady of the Angels, which were approved
by Las Cortes de Monzón on 24 November
1533., and constituted a real set of labor and
commercial laws and a government of the members
of the Gremio; the original is kept, among others,
in the head office of the Associaton.
